Irish film maker Edelle began her career on screen at an early age before quickly and strategically realizing she was best suited behind the camera. She gained diplomas and degrees in Ireland and the UK before deciding to move to NYC for 1 year. 10 years later she was still there. In that time she built a career with notable networks such as Paramount, Discovery and Viacom directing and story producing some of USA's most successful docu-series and reality television.
Her first short film Ossobuco credited her as 'one to watch' tackling challenging feminist themes and ran a successful worldwide festival circuit. She has now returned home and works in the scripted format with Universal Pictures, Blumhouse and Amazon MGM studios. Her most recent film The Race was supported and funded by National Talent Academy and Screen Ireland.
Some other notable projects in development with support of Screen Ireland are, a feature documentary called 'Pressure Cooker', a television series called 'Slánú' supported by the Spotlight award, a series titled 'The Influence' created by Jamie O'Rourke and a feature film 'Grace' written by Clare Monnelly supported by Perspectives. Additionally, she's currently in production with two short films, 'The Phantom of Fear' (Venom Films) and 'Caged Rabbits' (Subotica Films) with funding from Creative Europe and Fingal County Council. Edelle is mentored by Dearbhla Walsh specifically for character driven narrative and Kadir Ferati Balci in episodic television drama.
Edelle's writings largely focus on female narratives with the intention of perseverance.
With passports from the EU and US, she is suitable for co-production funding purposes.
